General Information

Wee Ones Morning School is a non-profit ministry of Eastside Baptist Church.  It is a half-day preschool program which meets two mornings each week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - noon.  The morning school operates September through May for 33 weeks and follows the Evans County Public School holiday schedule. It is housed behind Eastside Baptist Church in the “little red schoolhouse” and has access to a fenced playground and the fellowship hall and other facilities of Eastside Baptist Church.

The Director/Lead Teacher holds a Six Year Degree in Administration and Supervision and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She retired from the Evans County School System after serving 25 years at Evans County Board of Education and teaching kindergarten for 5 ½ years before that.  The staff consists of the Director/Lead Teacher, another teacher, and a teacher assistant who works with both classes.  All staff members are followers of Jesus Christ who are professing and practicing Christians with the same basic beliefs as Eastside Baptist Church.

Children must be three (3) years of age on or before September 1 to enroll in the preschool program.  All children must be potty trained.  Parents provide transportation to and from the program, and no before or after school provisions are offered.  All children are provided a mid-morning snack while at preschool.

Curriculum

Wee Ones Morning School uses a locally-developed thematic approach to learning which introduces 3-year olds to socialization in a Christian educational environment.  Children learn to interact with their peers and other adults besides parents.  They learn to enjoy individual play and group situations.  Children are introduced to colors, shapes, numbers to 10, and uppercase alphabet letters throughout the year.  Music and art are an important part of the program.  Bible stories are told each day, and a Bible verse and song are learned each month.  Christian principles are encouraged, and children learn pledges to the American Flag, the Christian Flag, and to the Bible.
