From God’s Word-Through My Heart-To Your Life:
According to Jesus, “Loving God, and Loving People” is not only the greatest two commandments but it is the fulfillment of them all! It is also the theme that the Eastside Baptist Family strives to live by. What Jesus said was reason enough for us to make this our goal but I would like to share one other foundational cause for it.
In Jeremiah 29:11-12 we find these wonderful words, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you” (NKJV).
If mankind ever recognizes “good news” they will place these statements very near the top of all they have ever heard.
Why? You ask. Consider the following ideas.

  • The God of all creation thinks about us! (My own kids forget my birthday)
  • He has thoughts that will bring peace to troubled hearts, a future to a dying life, and hope beyond all helplessness.  (What some have called a hopeless end turns into an endless hope)
  • If we will call out to Him and request His intervention, He will respond to our deepest and most pressing need.  (Death and taxes aren’t the only sure things!)

No one else can make that promise and actually back it up with power and action.
IF GOD LOVES US LIKE THAT—
WE SHOULD LOVE HIM BACK.
LOVING HIM CAUSES US TO BE LIKE HIM--
TO THE POINT THAT WE LOVE OTHERS AS WELL!

Here, at Eastside Baptist Church, we not only believe that good news, but we
celebrate it, and live life to the fullest because of it. From the inspired word of God,
through the heartfelt testimonies of believers, to your individual and unique life we
say, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own
understanding;  6In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your
paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV).

We also invite you to come, experience real life with us! God is so good and His blessings seem to be multiplying all around us. We would love for you to get in on some of them.  If you cannot come, call, or e-mail, we just want to hear what God is doing in your life.

In God’s Grace,
Pastor Gatus
