The heartbeat of Eastside Church has always been about God and people. And our vision at Eastside is simple: Loving God and Loving People. To love God is to love the things He loves and to love people is to lead them to the God that loves them.
And while we recognize that buildings only serve as a tool to help that entire process, the time has come for us to show God our great appreciation for the buildings and to be able to use them in the most fruitful way possible. It is time to show good stewardship toward this debt and the ministries we are now capable of providing for this community. We have a responsibility to God and to the next genteration of astside family members!
In the book of Joshua the people had just finished wandering in the desert for 40 years, Moses was now dead, and God raised up a new leader to take the people on to where God wanted them. Look at what God said to Joshua.
"Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead the people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them."
I like Joshua, exhort you, one and all. Do not let God catch us sitting on the sideline: the time is now for our involvement. The time is now to step out in faith. The time is now to move with God. The time is now to be a part of the vision that God has set before us! Beting today by praying about your part in The Beyond Measure" campaign.
THE NEED
We have recently built our new Recreational Outreach Center (ROC) and Educational Expansion because of our church's need for more space to accommodate our growing preschool, children and youth departments. We also needed additional room for our worship services and social events. Our vision to incorporate Upward sports and to host larger outreach events required the construction of a multipurpose building with a large kitchen capable of servicing large functions.
THE PROJECT
In August of 2008, we completed the ROC, which added approximately 13,000 square feet. This multi-purpose building can be used for a full size gym and currently is used for our worship and social gatherings. It also contains a large room designated for youth worship and activities. The building can easily accommodate crowds numbering over 500. Also in August of 2008, the educational expansion to the main church building was completed. It added over 5000 square feet of additional education space, which includes one large assembly room, two classrooms, a new choir room, library, bathrooms and an elevator allowing easier access to the second floor.
